Sunday afternoon excursion

As an optional program we kindly invite you to an evening sightseeing cruise on the Danube, on board of the ship "Danube Legend". The sightseeing is combined with a sound and vision show. The boat departs from the center of Budapest and makes an hour round trip in the city. While you are enchanted by the illuminated sights, famous Hungarian historical personalities, kings, queens, poets, inventors and even the Danube tell you legendary stories about the town. Through TV screens-hanged everywhere on board-you can look behind the walls of the buildings passing by, to admire the hidden interiors. The programme ends with the Blue Danube Waltz, which whispers in your ears any time you remember the tour.

Drinks (champagne, wine, beer, soft drinks) are served twice during the trip.

Date of cruise: 29.05.2005, ship starting at 20.00 from Vigadó Square Boat Station, Pier 7 (Budapest, 5th district)

Vigadó tér is between the bridges Erzsébet (Elisabeth) and Lánc (Chain), on the Pest side. The tram line no. 2 stops at Vigadó tér. If you decide to take the red metro line, please get off at Kossuth Lajos tér, and take the tram line no. 2. If you take the blue metro line, please get off at Ferenciek tere, and walk towards the Chain Bridge.

Optional programme before the cruise: guided walk

Meeting: 29.05.2005 5:00 PM, at Deák Ferenc tér, in front of the Lutheran church.

Deák Ferenc tér is the central metro hub of Budapest where all three lines meet, it is easy to get there. If you can't find the church, ask for "evangélikus templom". Our guide will wait for you there, wearing a black MorphoLogic T-shirt. During the sightseeing, we will see the Vörösmarty tér and the St. Stephen Basilica, walk down Andrássy út to the Opera House, take the oldest underground of continental Europe to Hősök tere (Heroes' Square), have a look around in the Városliget park, and take the underground back to Vörösmarty tér to have coffee in the best-known confectionery of Budapest, Gerbeaud. From there, we walk down together to the ship. The tour will take approx. 3 hours, and includes about 4 kms of walking.
