Why should you join the EAMT?

Conferences and Workshops: Every two years, the IAMT organizes the MT Summit, a unique conference dedicated to the world of translation technology which alternates between Europe, the Americas, and Asia/Pacific. In 2015 in Miami, USA, in 2017 in Nagoya, Japan, in 2019 in Dublin, Ireland. In 2021 it will be in Seattle, USA. The EAMT also organises an annual conference addressed to everyone interested in machine translation, translation-related tools and resources.

Expertise and networking: The EAMT is an excellent way to learn more about the practical aspects of MT. MT is still an imperfect technology and its members have a lot of collective wisdom to share about the use of MT in working environments. Through the EAMT, you may be able to reach people who have “been there before.”

Funding of MT activities: As part of the EAMT’s commitment to promote research, development and awareness about translation technologies,
the EAMT periodically launches a call for proposals to fund MT-related activities organized by its members. A list with the proposals funded up to now, with the latest call details link is available.

Memberships and benefits

Four types of membership are possible: student, individual, non-profit and corporate. All memberships are yearly renewed.

Students members can:

• apply to the EAMT Best Thesis Award;
• apply for funding under the students call for proposals;
• get discounted registration at EAMT annual conferences, as well as at MT Summits and sister association (AMTA, AAMT) conferences.

Individual members can:

• apply for funding under the general call for proposals;
• get discounted registration at EAMT annual conferences, as well as at MT Summits and sister association (AMTA, AAMT) conferences.

Non-profit members can:

• apply for funding under the general call for proposals;
• get discounted registration at EAMT annual conferences for two attendees who are members of the non-profit institution, as well as at MT Summits; and sister association (AMTA, AAMT) conferences;
• add their logo and non-profit institution profile in our EAMT.org website.

Corporate members can:

• apply for funding under the general call for proposals;
• get discounted registration at EAMT annual conferences for three attendees belonging to the corporation, as well as at MT Summits and sister association (AMTA, AAMT) conferences;
• add their logo and corporate profile in our EAMT.org website.
